Tokyo Homeikai is an alumni association of former Akita Prefectural Odate Junior High School and its graduates, faculty members and others related to the school who live in the Tokyo Metropolitan Area. We welcome anyone who wants to talk in the Akita dialect, those who wish to expand their horizons by connecting with alumni, and those who wish to support the younger generation.
Every year, we have a general meeting, get-together events, golf and bowling tournaments and more to strengthen our friendship.
Join us to have fun supporting our beloved alma mater and the new Homei alumni who come from Odate every year!
Please feel free to contact us to become a member! Click the button below and send us your name, address, phone number, email address, and graduation date (or year). We are looking forward to hearing from you!
It was more than half a century ago that I came to Tokyo from Odate, a city full of greenery. After acquiring professional medical qualifications at the university, I spent many years working at various facilities. I was so busy and never responded to invitations from the alumni association. One day, just before my 60th birthday, I received a letter from my old classmate, and several of us got reunited for the first time in 40 years. As we enjoyed each other's company, time slipped away and I found myself participating in the alumni activities. It was a long blank (past), but strangely enough, the alumni seemed like well-known seniors and juniors.
"My alma mater is a beautiful mountain and river." These were the words on my university alumni association newsletter a few years ago. I think this means that tradition has a self-cleansing effect, just like nature. Odate Homei High School is also a school with 120 years of tradition. It means that it has a history of overcoming many hardships. That history of overcoming many hardships must be flowing in our veins as well.
I believe that the Tokyo Homei HS Alumni Association is a foundation for alumni who live with the beautiful mountains and rivers of our hometown in their hearts in this metropolitan city of Tokyo.
